The SS Calvin Coolidge

The This DVD takes you on a tour through the historic WWII wreck of the SS Calvin Coolidge sunk in 1942. This intact wreck was built to be in direct competition with the grandness of the White Star Line out of England. Visit the statue of what has become known as "The Lady". The three story main lobby still lit today by an array of skylights, with it's water fountain still in place. Swim through the halls where passengers once walked to the Dining Halls, Beauty Salon, First Class Japanese Bath and Swimming Pool with its adjacent Soda Fountain. These halls are chaotic with equipment and personal items from 5000 American troops. Go to the debris field on the ships hull and the sea floor where gun placements added for Her wartime duty now rest. Move the length of the wreck, inside and out to where the crew worked, from the Galley, Butcher's Shop, Ships Hospital and Engine Room to the huge holds filled with the tools of war on their way to Guadalcanal. The footage was shot over eighty dives on the wreck by Mike Macaulay. Rhino Stage Productions LTD holds the copy write on all images. DVD runs for 60 minutes.
