The New Zealand Government Supports Shark Finning Press release 17 December 2005: New Zealand supported Japan at a meeting in Pohnpei, Micronesia, New Zealand fisheries officials failed to support an attempt by Australia, USA, Canada, the European Union and international fisheries agreements around the world to ban shark finning. As you maybe aware we have been asking the various Ministers of Fisheries of consecutive Labour governments for their policy regarding the practice of shark finning in New Zealand. New Zealand Underwater Association Best Practice proposal: A discussion document on proposed changes to monitoring a diver's fitness to dive. These draft guidelines are proposed for discussion by NZUA. Following consultation with relevant stakeholders NZUA may revise them. When they are finally released into the public domain it is anticipated that they will be endorsed by consensus opinion from the appropriate stakeholders who operate in New Zealand, including, but not limited to, diving agencies,dive retailers, dive safety organizations, dive clubs, representatives from the diving medicine profession and the coroners. 03/11/2005: NZUA Best Practice - 33KB
