Fish farms linked to wild salmon
A new study suggests that parasitic sea lice infestations caused by salmon farms are driving nearby populations of wild pink salmon towards extinction. Canadian scientist expect a 99% collapse in another four years if the infestations continue. Two solutions that may work are: move the farms away from migration paths of wild salmon or have the farm pens completely sealed off from the surrounding waters.
